The Moonlight Race is named after a waterway not far from the vineyard. Here we have a beautiful savoury Pinot Noir.
An organic and biodynamic vineyard from day one of planting in 2003, the first Burn Cottage vintage was released in 2009.
Winemaker Claire Mulholland's philosophy is simple - focus on the vineyard to produce vibrant and elegant wines with balance that represent the site.
A blend of two vineyard sites (Burn Cottage has a second vineyard on Felton Road) this is deliciously soft and moreish. Tea and earthy characters play a big hand early. Dark cherries and some black fruits slide on in with fine spices and minerally feels ticking away patiently. Delicately smooth to finish, this is smart indeed.
