The pick of the Chard Farm wines tasted on a recent trip to the cellar door. The fruit was previously sold to Burn Cottage but in recent years it was decided to hold it back. Burn Cottage wines are outstanding and this Pinot can now stand tall in its own right.
Bright fruit and red cherries make an immediate impression. Loaded with herbaceous appeal, it's the kind of wine that hugs every turn and crevice of the mouth. Black fruits and some peppery notes get to work soon after with a coiled acidity indicating this has a long future. Fine brick dust tannins mop up the tail in an impressive manner. Brilliant!
