Curious scents of bark and black tea leaves before the power of dark cherries and blackberries take control. Licorice bullets and dried herbs make an effort to rise up along with some raspberry, but the power of the black fruit won't budge. Puffs of earthiness come late with peppery spices scattered about before big, sapping and drying cocoa-like tannins consume the mouth. Big wines like this need big dishes to tame them. Roast beef or lamb for me thanks.
