I can't stop sipping this. Actually, substitute sipping with drinking. Just wow. Super silky with delicate spices, feed this Yalumba The Steeple to me via a drip.
Planted 1919, this biodynamic vineyard sits in the shadow of the Light Pass Immanuel Lutheran Church Steeple. Spending 16 months in French oak, red fruits are dipped in dark chocolate. Boysenberry and pomegranate muse with delicate plums adding depth. Cedar adds interest with a flirtatious flash of cured meat. Black fruits build momentum over a few days of tasting and demonstrate the wine's ageing credentials. Wonderfully handled, there is a joyous presence that simply glides with ease. Spices are scattered to every extremity delivering a long and persistent finish. That classic song from Taylor Dayne keeps reverberating around my head as I taste this - I can't get enough.
