A Bordeaux blend with minor contributions from Malbec and Petit Verdot, it spends 14 months in barrel. Expected bay leaf is in the mix early as it bursts from the blocks. Add scents of beef stock, soy and licorice to capture the mood. The delivery is packed with generous berry pie features and some meatiness. Those dark plums and berries are silky with a deathly touch. A subtle mintiness, dried sage and thyme have the parting word on a lingering and satisfying finish.
A wine that will age beautifully given the development seen over a couple of days of tasting, I'd happily recommend this - it's great value.
