The current release is the 2020 but this 2019 sample appeared. It's been a while since a Heathcote Shiraz came across the bench so it's great to be reacquainted.
Super dark in the glass, it is almost inky and staining. Plums and dark chocolate are all the rage with a soy/teriyaki thing going on. Some sweet black fruit makes a run for it late along with a sheet of dried Mediterranean herbs and licorice bullets. Sandy and dusty tannins wrap themselves around a long and sapping finish. A great wine for a cool night by the fire pit.
