The O'Leary Walker Seasonal Release range continues to stretch the curiosity and here we go again. This is a 50/50 blend where Gruner Veltliner meets O'Leary Walker's prized and pretty Watervale Riesling. Clean, tight and crisp, the OLW team might be onto something here.
From a cool and wet year, green apple skin, tart green apple, custard apple, ruby grapefruit and cut pear stride out early. Tense, the acid is lassoed around the edge of the palate and pulls tight. And it's that tension that keeps you coming back for more. There is an unmistakable minerality and riverstone presence plus a steeliness that makes its presence known with a Mediterranean tonic feel riding all the way. Tempura prawns, fish and chips, mozzarella balls straight out of the air fryer, give me it all.
