A new wine in the Y Series range, this Lighter Chardonnay comes in at 7% alc compared to the 12.5% of the "normal" release. I tasted the two alongside one another to get a picture of where things were at and this Lighter Chardonnay is pretty good.
As with the Lighter Pinot Grigio, it's more expressive aromatically than it is to taste, but brighter and riper fruit will bring more flavour as seen with the "normal" wine. Golden apple, rockmelon and ruby grapefruit aromas flow through to the mouth with a vibrant acidity. Vegan friendly, as an option for a wine with less alcohol, this goes okay.
