90 year old Semillon was handpicked and destemmed before being tossed into two Amphora for a month on skins. Wild fermentation took place and the result is an expressive take on a Barossa variety that is often forgotten about.
With a peach tea appearance, this comes together with time in the glass. Don't serve it too cold and reap the reward. I like the texture and weight - well handled to get you in the mood.
Think yellow flowers, peach skin and yellow fleshed stonefruit, there is a whisper of ginger beer, lemon myrtle and candied orange. An ever so fine white pepper and cinnamon spice chimes in late with a green tea like tannin feel closing things out. It's a wine that grows on you and one that would hit the right notes in those trendy Fitzroy bars with the vinyl beats humming.
