Yalumba Sanctum Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Off the Yalumba Menzies Vineyard in Coonawarra, the pedigree is real so you know this Sanctum is no mug.

For context, it is fair to say that the fruit is 'fourth grade' (to use a term) with the best parcels heading to The Caley, the next best to The Menzies and then The Cigar with the Sanctum back in the queue.

It's a drying and puckering Cabernet that sees five months in seasoned French oak. Blackberries and blackcurrants rage along with pretty purple and blue flower scents adding aromatic delight. Roasted peppers, pizza sauce and tomato bush partner the black fruit through to a long sustained finish. A more than handy type, it's good gear for the asking price.
