A tribute to winemaker Michael Costa's nonno Vincenzo Costa, this comes in a big hefty bottle. It's a weapon and immediately gives the sense that this is a serious wine. And it is.
A Shiraz Cabernet blend, it's generous and rich yet tempered at the same time. It sees 100% new French oak, but don't freak out on the oak - it calms over a couple of days of tasting confirming that it will age nicely.
It's a wine that gets its claws in deep but allows enough wriggle room. Think rum 'n' raisin, dark chocolate, fine spices and a little cedar. The flow and presence are fabulous and ensure that it rolls about like a ball of melted chocolate - you know what I mean. Give this a couple of years in a dark place or a really good decant and let it breathe for a few hours. Be patient and you'll be rewarded deluxe, it certainly befits a special occasion.
