O'Leary Walker GSN 2022

The debut of something creative and new from O'Leary Walker - hello GSN! Scratch the Mataro/Mourvedre that we know of as a usual accomplice and replace it with Nero d'Avola. A little spicy but there is some richness yet enough juicy factor to embrace. Tick!

A 40/35/25 blend, it's the first time I've seen this blend but winemaker Jack Walker reliably informs me that there are another one or two loitering around McLaren Vale.

Clare Valley Grenache carries a little more weight and you can see that here. Give it some air and it's a lovely drink. Its rounded presence gradually rises to the fore with mulberry and blueberry hihglights. Chocolate brownie, peppered steak and barbecue rub spices fill out the mid-palate and run long. Black cherries from the Nero run late and pull at your heartstrings. A classic barbecue wine - just add ribs or skirt steak.

Drink to three years.
