A new wine in the Y Series range, this Lighter Pinot Grigio comes in at 7% alc compared to the 12% of the "normal" release. With the no and low alcohol movement gaining momentum, this is a pleasing addition to the range.
This was tasted alongside the "normal" Pinot Grigio to give a fair comparison and to see if anything was lost with the Lighter wine, apart from the alcohol.
Good aromas of cut pear, green melon, lillies and field flowers open the proceedings. Not overly expressive to taste, green apples are the main highlight with some super soft cinnamon spices. The acid has a little crunch factor, not dissimilar to biting into a green apple.
It's a fair wine (and vegan friendly) that will offer some refreshment, albeit that it skimps a little on the flavour.
