It's been a while since Teroldego made its way across this tasting bench and it's great to be reacquainted with this northern Italian variety once again. This is a cracking drink.
Sourced from the Murray Darling, it smells of squishy blueberries, mulberry compote and sour cherries all flowing neatly to the flavour profile. Silky and juicy to taste, the fruit builds a fabulous momentum and tenses up late with fine brick dust tannins clinging to a long finish.
Incredibly food friendly, the lack of spice makes this such an attractive option, but being an Italian variety, there is a bright acidity that is well handled.
But don't mind me as I nestle into the corner and sip slowly on a large glass of pleasure. Great stuff!
Drink to five years.
