Much like its First Minister sibling, this Ivyburn Regional Series Shiraz from the Barossa comes across a little bitsy and needs some time to mesh together.
Tasted over three days, blackberries, dark plums, drunken cherries and dark chocolate pudding featured large. Dense cedary oak is heavy-handed - a result of its time in American oak (amount of time unknown). The alcohol is warming and the delivery was much smoother on day two of tasting with that abrasive edge showing a little more polish, although some acid still pokes out. Give it a sleep and time should be of benefit.
