A very good expression of the variety, this Tamburlaine Reserve Syrah is medium-bodied as you'd expect from the Hunter Valley. There is a little more weight here than its Reserve Syrah sibling from Orange too. It's well worth checking out.
Reddish Hunter earth makes an early impression, red berries and plummy fruit dance at ease with some spiced cherries clinging to the tail. Some dark chocolate from the oak shows its hand a touch more but that impact is for the better. The longer it sits the better it looks. A big yes from me!
