Quite a contrast to its Hunter Valley Reserve Syrah sibling, it was a great exercise to take a look at these two Tamburlaine Organic Reserve wines made the same way from two different regions.
Quite drying, puckering tannins make a bold impression and leave a trail of cocoa tannins in their wake. Some purple flowers open the door with an array of red and blue fruits. Good oak is entwined with spiced cherry fruit building momentum. A little dark chocolate, a hint of meatiness and some char continue to build some detail but the mouthfeel pulls this back a little. A touch more weight would do the trick for me.
