With most Rosés now looking awfully similar in appearance, it's great to see the odd one here and there unashamedly showing some more colour. This Rosé from Gundog Estate is a very tidy drink to boot.
A cranberry juice appearance takes the stage with scents from the Cabernet component (blended with Shiraz) that leap at you with some blueberry pie. Blackcurrants and spiced dark cherries weave through parceled up by ribbons of spice that run long. Red apple and a touch of pomegranate come late with a cheeky creamy undertow.
There is some body here and that extra dose of generosity makes this a great barbecue wine. Sling this under your arm for that snag on bread in the park or just sit under a tree with a bag of Samboy barbecue chips for the win. Above all, this is a really good drink.
