Like a Neenish tart, there is a distinct line down the middle of this Larnook Grenache Shiraz. Perhaps some more time will help the two sides smoke the peace pipe?
The Shiraz is the dominant party coming across tense and firm. Spicy dark berry fruit and some chocolatey oak make the first impression. The Grenache presents a bevelled edge of purple and blue fruit before the spice hooks around and seizes the finish. Day two of tasting delivered a smoother path yet that spice was still firm and consuming on close. A wine best enjoyed with food, a snag on bread will do the trick with onions on top for the win.
Drink to five years.
