It sees French oak for 12 months (30% new), and throws out a welcome mat with blackberries, tilled earth, plums and dark chocolate. Some leafy and herby flecks come courtesy of the Cabernet with blackcurrants sitting at the core. Firm spices are a little warming but a respectable length keeps the interest levels surging. A wine that will age nicely over the medium term, this is well done.
