A bit like Rexona, this Pikes Traditionale Riesling will never let you down. Such a reliable go-to, if you see this on the shelf, don't hesitate. A consistent performer for many years, in fact, this is the 40th release of this wine.
Approximately 50% of the fruit comes from the Pikes Polish Hill River vineyards with the remainder sourced from growers and leased sites from Watervale, Mintaro, Leasingham and Sevenhill.
The finished wine sits on lees for three months which is evident in the detail.
Bone dry, it is bursting with limes and lime pith. Green apple hums through the core with a citrusy zest and tang. Soft talc feels add to the detail and elevate the moreish factor. Quite simply, this is a bloody good Riesling. Go here.
