From red volcanic soils sitting 206-253 metres above and planted in 2008, the MV6, C777 and C115 clone fruit was handpicked and fermented (15% whole bunch) in open vessels before an eleven-month maturation in French oak (10% new), then a further four months prior to bottling.
Dried strawberries, dark cherries, sour cherries and plums, there is a measured density that speaks of the site. Pan juices and meaty things muse with twigs, dried leaves and a little dark chocolate. A wine of contemplation, yet it delivers mass satisfaction through its textural appeal - porcini mushrooms and mushroom broth fold in with ease.
