From one of the most elevated sites in Geographe's Ferguson Valley, this Talisman Wildchild Riesling is taut and minerally with a charismatic detail.
The fruit was whole bunch pressed, sent to barrel for wild yeast fermentation and spent four months on lees.
On first inspection, you could be forgiven for thinking that you were looking at a Riesling from the Clare Valley's Polish Hill River. With a pretty musk aroma on opening, limes and green apples are all the rage with a citrusy zip and crunchy acidity. There is a fine ribbon of creaminess from the time on lees but it doesn't supersede the fresh presence. It's a terrific drink, and if you're a lover of aged Riesling, this will reward your patience should you be able to resist temptation. For now, throw it at some oysters or prawns in tempura batter for the win.
