From 500 vines that were planted in 2014 just a stone's throw from the cellar door, this Pinotage is made exclusively by O'Leary Walker. Having followed the wine across three vintages, this is the best release yet.
Three tonnes were harvested in 2024. Hand plunged three times daily, it was sent to French oak (15% new) for twelve months.
Baked blueberries, plums and a little pan jus presence are parcelled up by attractive aromas of dried violets, cola and black tea. An earthy drive is feathered throughout as are dried herbs and superfine peppery spices. Brick dust tannins slowly bring the mouth to water building a tremendous moreishness. A wine for contemplation or to share with your love while binging on the streaming apps, this is smart gear.
