Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Reserve Fumé Blanc 2023

The first release from the Crayères close-spaced vineyard, I felt this Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Reserve Fumé Blanc 2023 would be better suited with food by its side.

The fruit was whole bunched pressed and fermented in 600L seasoned French oak. It saw 18 months in bottle prior to release.

It opens with scents of citrus flower, papaya, lemon juice and rock melon. Creamy with a fine textural appeal, a gentle ripple of stonefruit, custard apple, pear and green melon builds on the mid-palate. Some gingernut biscuit spice drives long with tinges of green herbs and gooseberry rushing late, I'd be curious to watch the development of this label in the coming years. All up, it's a respectable debut.
