After perusing a fleet of white wines sent by the Geogrpahe Wine Association, a consistent theme has been a touch of saltiness and minerality as a common thread. Without fail, they are evident here once again.
It opens with flint and struck match with the fruit profile driven by lemons, barbecued peach, almond praline, white fleshed nectarines and yellow grapefruit. Having seen previous vintages of this wine over the years, a cashew nuttiness is never far from the action. A terrific texture drapes itself over the palate with a lemon sorbet ping on close. The acid drive sizzles and that is what I'm here for. It's focused and moreish. Ginger and woodsy spices have the last word on a persistent finish. This is a ripping Chardonnay.
