Wild boar ragu is a cherished classic in the north-west of Italy, and given the roots of Barbera and Nebbiolo in this blend, a glass or two alongside would be a hand-in-glove pairing.
I'm unsure of the blend percentages, but I suspect there is a fair chunk of Barbera here based on the aroma profile. Those dark berries nestle in with some red fruit. Aromas of red petals and dried purple flowers shift to a flavour profile highlighted by leather, a little spice and a touch of dark chocolate delivering the goods. It's long and inviting with fine tannin detail framing a moreish and considered finish. I'd have a glass.
Drink to five years.
