A wet vintage produced no Cabernet, so the winemaking team needed to be a little creative. So here we are, a Shiraz Merlot blend. Dead smooth, it's not an overly complex wine, but gee, it slides through with ease.
Not a common blend in its won right, the two parcels work well and fold into one another seamlessly.
Blackberries and blackberry jubes, black tea, chocolate and a shimmer of meat jus. Fine spices tap away with tense tannins holding the reins keeping this rooted to the mid-palate. Give it some time to breathe and it slowly opens up its arms. Good stuff.
Drink to eight years.
