There is a simplicity here. Not a bad thing, but it just doesn't have the complexity and depth I would have expected from this producer. But you can't win them all I suppose.
Black fruit, black olives, earthy and pan juices put their shoulder to the wheel but the delivery is thinly veiled. An outlier of sorts, that is not what I've come to expect after seeing this wine in previous years. A shimmer of spice, albeit that it's more of a subtle nudge than a graceful and respectable announcement, with a dusty finish to close. It goes okay and it is a good drink, but for the money, I'd prefer others.
