A groovy little Merlot from Raidis Estate. There's an energy and vibe that grabs my attention early. Personality and interest are always a good thing when it comes to Merlot.
It's an impressive wine for now but it will age gracefully - there are good bones here. Soft dark plums and dark berries feature large. It's a wine with an engaging presence and good shape. Choc brownie, dried herbs and some earthiness tuck in behind. Fine spices and a long drawn-out finish add a few more strings to its bow. A big tick from me, it's a more than respectable drink.
Drink to eight years.
