Mount Langi Ghiran Talus Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Right in the wheelhouse of a classic cool climate Cabernet, this Talus is a very good release from Mount Langi Ghiran.

The fruit comes from machine-harvested vines with an average age of 47 years and they see French oak barriques for 16 months (45% new).

The introduction stirs up plenty of interest. Think cool mints (do they still make those?), blackberries, blackberry paste, blackcurrants and pretty purple flowers. Some tomato bush and roasted capsicum raise their hand early but move on after some time in the glass.

There is some density but the fruit glides through with a silky presence. Soft tannins have a skip in their step and coax you back time and again. It's drinking well now but it will build some fabulous momentum in the years to come, should you have the patience to let it do so.

Drink to ten years+
