Over a few days of tasting it builds some pleasing momentum. Dark plums leap out early with blackcurrants and blackberries - the latter playing a lead role. Spearmint and dried herbs add interest with Ribena and dark chocolate. There is a juicy factor initially but then it gets about its work as drying, puckering tannins slowly draw moisture from the mouth. Lower in alcohol than the previous release, it's certainly leaner (13.8% alc).
