After Five Wine Co Montepulciano 2021

Montepulciano from the southern Barossa and it's another very good release from the ever-reliable and consistent After Five Wine Co. under the guise of Purple Hands Wines. This glistens in the glass and captures my eye immediately. It speaks of the clay soils it comes from with a silty tannin presence.

A generous and mouthfilling wine loaded with all things blackberries and mulberries, dark cherries muse with dark chocolate offering a Cherry Ripe appeal. Puffs of reddish earth shift to drying tannins. It brings a comforting warmth to it that calls for cool evenings and hearty meals. If only I had a big bowl of lamb ragu handy. These guys hit the mark time and again. Well played here.
