It's a wine that shows some generosity with its presence yet it delivers some fruit vibrancy and maintains its medium to full-bodied shape. Bar a small portion of Mataro from the sandy Vine Vale soils, the remainder of the fruit comes from the clay soils of the southern Barossa.
Meaty, earthy with some leather early on, dried herbs, blueberries, juicy raspberries and plums lift off. It reaches far and wide with earthy and woodsy spices as some dark chocolate works its way into the frame. There is a comforting warmth about its carry. If a bag of chips isn't on your radar, the length and width on offer calls for barbecued meats or a night cap by a fire pit. Good stuff.
