Even after three days of tasting, this was still showing great form as it slowly revealed itself. Dried leaves and undergrowth, puffs of earth, twigs, sauteed mushrooms and mushroom broth open the account. As time passed some bacon hock and smoked meatiness showed its hand. Spiced rhubarb along with dark plums and dried strawberries fly the flag as the fruit profile plays a secondary role. A lick of orange peel was a neat touch too. Terrifically structured, fine spices and a web of tension draws out to a fabulous length. It's an excellent Pinot.
