Fresh off the bottling line, the colour of this Tenafeate Creek Rosé is significantly different to the bottle pic shown. Think rose gold and onion skin, it's better than the photo suggests.
It kicks off with a terrific promise. Made with Sangiovese, think watermelon and watermelon husk, white raspberries, red currants and rhubarb. But there is an unmissable sweetness that sweeps through and detracts from the red fruit on show. It clings to the finish and undoes the tidy lead-up work. Remove the sweetness and this would be a very tidy wine.
