Damn, this is an excellent drink. Fruit, oak, balance, structure, longevity... What doesn't this Houghton CW Ferguson Cabernet Malbec have?
The detail and elegance are the winning elements. The oak shows early on in the form of cedar but that settles over a few days of tasting. Handfuls of dark plums and blackcurrants are lavish and generous. Best in a few years, silky dark chocolate and fine-grained tannins add to its dangerously smooth presence. Moreish and considered are the buzzwords as woodsy spices frame a long and persistent finish. What a beauty! It's a wine that will reward for many years to come.
