This is my second look at this Biscay Road Riesling with its first arrival coming hot off the bottling line. A few more months in bottle have helped it settle into a neat groove.
Machine-harvested and cold-pressed, the pressings were separated from the free run juice and fermented at 16 degrees for two weeks before being fined and filtered prior to bottling.
Fresh and showing a little more body, green apples and canned apples are the heroes. Soft scents of white flowers add delight with a fine chalky texture on close. Well-handled citrus acidity shines a light on some lemon sherbet too. Above all, what I like about it is its flow and consistency through the mouth. A pleasurable drink, it's perfect for a picnic or a bucket of prawns, and you are set.
