Another excellent Viognier from Tim Smith, the $30 asking price does not reflect the quality that is in the glass. But as the consumer, you win!
A fraction richer and oily than the previous release, there is an unmistakable beauty about its presence. It sees Hungarian and French oak for six months which has imparted some delightful creamy characteristics, best described as those milk bottle lollies (less the sweetness of course) - delightful. Awash with yellow stonefruit, apricot nectar and even a touch of pear, ginger spices wrap themselves around the fruit ably supported by cashews and touches of marzipan. If drinking this now, can I recommend giving this a decant. I tasted it over two days and it was beaming on the second. Give it that chance and you'll be rewarded.
