An edgy style of Chardonnay, yet this Wambuul from Renzaglia offers a calm and composed sophistication. Great stuff!
Produced in the Wambuul Valley, Wiradjuri Country, the Wambuul is the name of the fish that swim through the waters of the Campbell and Macquarie Rivers.
A bit reductive with some struck match featuring early, it's a wine with good fruit concentration without being weighty. Custard powder and Portuguese tart cast sheets of creaminess with a Greek yoghurt milkiness tucking itself into the background. A limestone minerality taps away adding further interest to this most enjoyable Chardonnay.
