I can't help but think of Rocky Balboa when I see the word Rocky. A bit of a rebrand, this is new to the Parker range. The fruit is sourced from the very north of the Coonawarra region, the Rocky Block.
It sees 12 months in French oak (25% new). A wine with a lovely shape and feel, it walks with a vibe and a cool swagger of sorts. Dark plums and black fruits are the heroes flanked by dried herbs, shards of dark chocolate, smokey hock, dried mint leaves, char and sheets of black pepper. Such a reliable go-to, it flows with ease delivering good density. Very nicely done, you won't lose with this in your glass or if it's within reach on the bottle shop shelf.
