Clare Valley Chardonnay are not three words you'd generally put together when talking about the region. Riesling is the district's flagship white variety, but this Chardonnay does a mighty fine job of bringing the pleasure factor.
Creamy oak and Jersey caramel are the chief protagonists leading the seduction. Barbecued peaches, peaches and cream, a squeeze of lemon juice and a lemon sherbet tang cling to the tail. A shimmer of minerality sits at the core with a ripple of gingernut biscuit spice that draws out to a long and moreish finish. It's nicely done.
