The 2026 vintage wasn't short of challenges. Following the punishing frosts of November 2025, you'd imagine fruit selection would have been meticulous and yields considerably reduced. The result, however, is a Riesling that excels despite the season.
Hand-picked from two Polish Hill River vineyards, with 100% free-run juice and four months on lees, this is a wine built on precision and detail.
Cold-pressed apple, green apple skin, lime leaf and a splash of Bickford's lime cordial leap from the glass. The palate is steely and focused, carrying itself with a chiselled confidence that never wavers. A pop of juicy lime fruit through the middle brings welcome generosity before notions of riverstone minerality take hold.
There's an attractive chalky, talc-like texture throughout, adding another dimension to the wine's otherwise taut frame. Grapefruit sizzles on the finish, while cleansing acidity slices through with authority and purpose.
What impresses most is the control. Every element feels measured, precise and in its place. Riesling lovers rejoice! Bravo!
