A pre-release sample, this 2021 is dense but polished. A Coonawarra Shiraz with a classy shape and splendid detail, it will live long.
Dark fruit driven, there is plenty of dark chocolate and licorice playing supporting roles. There is even a little Cherry Ripe thing going on. The oak shows in the form of cedar with a flash of char, caramel and fine spices build terrific momentum. It's a wine that certainly benefitted from time in the glass and it showed its best on day two and three of tasting. Give it a good decant if enjoying it in the short term.
