Killer Chardonnay from Matt Eades and his awesome little Amour winery. Creamy, nutty, the well handled drive lands the winning blow. I'd be more than happy to not share this with anyone.
Grown 960 metres above, the 2021 comes from a cold and wet year. Handled oxidatively, it sees 15 months in French oak (25% new).
The oak certainly plays its hand with melted butter and toast supporting the lemon juice, preserved lemon, white fleshed stonefruit and grapefruit presence. That cashew nuttiness and vanilla creaminess add fine detail and a consistent rhythm to a fabulous wine. What a beauty!
Drink to eight years.
