I was given the opportunity to taste this new release 2023 alongside a 2007. A fascinating contrast, the latter was still showing an impressive fresh and lively palate.
Aged Sauvignon Blanc hasn't really been on my radar but it was a great opportunity to see such wines that are often pigeon-holed as 'drink now' demonstrate the capability to stay the course. Respect. The texture and layers filled out and the wine built some fabulous momentum with time in the glass. Good stuff!
To the 2023, it's a classic, fresh and fruit driven wine. Well-managed acidity keeps things tidy with highlights of lychee, pineapple sage, pears and flashes of passionfruit pulp. Some grapefruit slides in on close. A great match for Mexican food. A big tick from me.
