Dreaded Friend Grenache 2022

Central Ranges Grenache pulling at my heartstrings. This was a surprise packet, and damn, there is a lot to like. From ChaLou's Steve and Nadja, this Dreaded Friend range shows a range of different varieties they can access. Big love here.

Spending three weeks on skins using 35% whole bunches, this Grenache was deliberately handled like Pinot Noir - a common theme now with many of the best Grenache producers in Australia.

Red cherries and baked raspberries are joyous and energetic. Sourced from 2000 organic vines, the wine can't be labelled as organic as the winery and makers haven't sought certification. Fine spices curl endlessly around the mouth with sheets of powdery tannin coating the mouth with absolute ease. Long and moreish, I'd happily dive into a glass with pike. More please!
