A lot of consumers are often surprised to learn of Orange's high-altitude vineyards. This Ross Hill Pinot Noir comes from a site 1020m above. A very good wine, the vines were planted in 2008 at the Wallace Lane site.
It sees French oak (35% new) for nine months as well as 30% whole bunches. Autumnal feels are the vibe. Leaf matter, undergrowth and mushroom compost deliver those earthy Pinot feels with a stream of dark cherries cruising through the mid-palate. Superfine spices lap at the edges delivering a persistent and intriguing wine.
Drink to eight years.
