This Pipers River Chardonnay from Dalrymple is complex with a measured concentration. Big love!
Handpicked and whole bunch pressed, it sees a mix of new and old French oak as well as a 700L ceramic egg for ten months.
Dehydrated peach, white fleshed nectarines and a little grapefruit tang get you in the mood. The oak supports the fruit with assurance and lets it speak up - nicely done. Time in the glass reveals that coveted oyster shell trait - yes! Some nuttiness raises its hand thanks to cashews with a nougat presence making itself known too. The lemony and grapefruit tang brings the mouth to water. Long, it's an impressive wine.
