This ChaLou Pinot Noir 2022 is the best value Pinot I found on my recent trip to Orange. It's a cracking deal for $35. Generous, delicious, fine and juicy - coupled with its killer shelf appeal, hunt it down.
It's such a great deal I even suggested to owners Steve and Nadja to jack up the price - it's too good for the money. Made with 30% whole bunches and 10% new oak, the fruit is expressive and dancy. Red currants, blood orange and a red apple crunch get you in the mood. Some earthiness from the volcanic soils shows its hand with a subtle spice and lengthy finish to seal the deal. The acid and tannins keep it poised. This is a wine and a brand well worth getting around. Boom!
